G-C-D-G

I’ve picked up the guitar after a few years off the strings; what’s different this time is that I am trying to learn songs all the way through – and if I can, sing and play at the same time so that we could have some campfire fun with the kids. So I just came to the realization that a majority of the songs out there are all variations on the same basic chords: G A C D E F (but not B, not many songs use B for some reason – I personally think B is kind of dirty and since you have to bar the frets I imagine most musicians out there are lazy and don’t want to use it).

The 3 songs I learned tonight used the same basic chords, just in a different order: The Freshman by Verve Pipe, Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, Losing my Religion by REM.
